Welcome...

I have a deep and abiding love for all the inhabitants of this planet (Earth) and view each one as my equal.

My message is not new, but with my passionate desire to help heal the planet, I join my voice to the many voices who have sung before and who are now singing to help us all experience "a whole new world".

Yes, I truly believe that LOVE IS THE ANSWER!

The Stairway to Heaven... part 5--Proper Teaching Protocol

Ooooh, this is fun!  :-)

We now have "Jesus" "set in the place where he would teach the people".  But WHAT and HOW would he teach?  Although the next phrase in Matthew 5 verse 1 has "Jesus" "call(ing) forth his disciples" and them "hear"ing him, verse 2 clarifies that he has not yet even "opened his mouth".  What the...?  So, let's discuss briefly the concept of *teaching*.

[Okay, because the concept of teaching is so widely misunderstood, perhaps more than a brief exposure to it is required.  :-) ]  Here goes:

Suffice it at the moment to say that the "WHAT" of "Jesus'" teaching would lead those so taught back into a balance, a harmony, of their entire nature.  In fact, the balance of ALL molecular and quantum creation and interaction is to arrive at the balance that each seeks naturally; which balance always conforms to eternal natural laws that have always existed.  Humans recognize and identify this balance as happiness.

To arrive at this optimum state, a set plan has been outlined, an evolution followed, and a progression set in motion that has never changed, nor ever will.  This is the eternal "plan of salvation" that "Jesus" was to personify, exemplify, and, yes, teach.

"Jesus" had exemplified throughout his life (thus, "teaching" all who witnessed) a balance.  This is the greatest way to teach, through one's example.  This also can be "taught" without ever opening one's mouth, but through quiet and ponderous observation.

When any and all opposing forces (mental, physical, emotional) within one's being unite into a stable balance, there comes a power beyond any other known to humankind.  This state of balance, happiness, purification, is that of restored harmony.  The opposites have become balanced.  This balance allowed for and called forth a power within the being called "Jesus" that was palpable, even if not understood, by all within his sphere.  He had truly "lost himself" in a transcendent purpose, thus becoming invulnerable to the fears and setbacks of ordinary existence.  In brief, it was this serenity that he was now prepared and "set" to teach.

Often, un-wise teachers mistake "teaching" for:  telling, lecturing, ridicule, deprivation, abuse, threats, complaints, etc.  Equally hazardous are the leaders and teachers of today who erroneously view "teaching" as: self esteem raising, coddling, the "All's Well in Zion" mentality that is bent on "pacifying" and "lulling into a carnal security", thus, stupor-fying any would-be student.

"Jesus", however, knew that proper, long-lasting "teaching" was very different than any of these.  He knew that to truly teach meant that the people would really learn AND APPLY what he taught.  The former methods, "Jesus" knew, though perhaps resulting in temporary compliance, would bring no lasting sweetness, respect, desired results, nor power to anyone involved.  He knew that students are endeared to their teacher when appropriately taught.  This requires the judicious use of chastisement, rebuke and firm reprimand, while afterwards administering an increase of love.  Though often painful (as "Mother Nature" even knows), correct teaching brings forth an increase of depth in the relationship between student and teacher, one brimming with sincere respect, gratitude, and long-term application of the lesson learned.

I will share much more about the correct way to "teach" within another venue.  Hopefully, this much will allow the Reader, to catch a glimpse of what was hinted at within these verses; much, much more than "the people huddled together quietly in a quasi Sunday School class".  :-)
